"I really love this ... I feel like it's very empowering. It really resonates with me." - Amanda (Amanda Laura Photography)
A runaway at 16 years old, Jason began to refine his craft in 24 hour coffee shops by emulating the artistic greats he'd discovered in his early exposure to Heavy Metal Magazine. Combining the sexuality of Luis Royo, the darkness of H.R. Giger, and the beauty Olivia De Berardinis on whatever scraps of paper he could find, he spent the better part of the 1990's creating his first collection, 'The Dark Side of Cheesecake.'
Jason’s enduring patience and attention to detail has become a defining characteristic in his work and his latest collection, AR, exemplifies this. By creating backgrounds as detailed as his subjects, Jason has created a hauntingly beautiful world that allows the observer to look around as a part of the story rather than observing from outside of the frame.
"...there is much tenderness and empathy. An important and oft times elusive quality that is missing in many more well known artists work. I can tell in each piece how much he loves what he is doing."
